I'm happy that she won, but I didn't think her performance was all that.
I think people get a kick out of watching fat black chicks belt out song about how some man didn dem wrong. Some people are impressed with that. As a black woman, I can go to church on any given Sunday and hear someone better than that.
But the fact that she was able to take a mediocre acting performance in an okay movie and make Hollywood gold out of it.
She's this year's "Star is Born". Now, let's see if she has the staying power of a Judy Garland or Barbara Streisand. Best of luck to her.
