From Jennifer & Courtney to Gwyneth & Beyonce: Ten Hollywood Besties

A best friend is an amazing person to have in your life. You can rely on them, confide in them, make fun of their insecurities and get away with it…

We love seeing celebs find friends among each other. Mostly because there’s more chance for public drama, but you know, we’re happy for them too. Here are ten Hollywood BFFs that are still going strong.

Courteney Cox & Jennifer Aniston: These two must’ve really gotten into character on the set of Friends. Their fictional friendship became a real-life relationship that’s lasted years. And husbands.

Matt Damon & Ben Affleck: They grew up together, wrote a movie together, and won an Oscar together. Jennifer Garner might be the #1 person in Affleck’s life now, but the old Boston buddies are still besties.

Gwyneth Paltrow & Beyonce: At the 2011 Grammys, Jay-Z let his wife be someone else’s plus one. And that someone was Gwyneth Paltrow. Beyonce sat in the audience to support her BFF, who performed “Forget You” with Cee-Lo Green. If Beyonce can put up with listening to her sing all the time, Gwyneth must be a really cool friend.

Eva Longoria & Mario Lopez: Breaking the BFF gender rule, Eva Longoria and Mario Lopez were seen together so much for a while, the press was speculating a romance. But Longoria insists the two are just friends, even though Lopez presented her with a gold Cartier necklace when she opened her restaurant Beso. Because nothing says “platonic” like a man giving another woman jewelry.

Tobey Maguire & Leonardo DiCaprio: In the nineties, when these two were child actors, they made a pact to help each other out with future TV and movie roles. More recently, they’re both involved in an underground gambling ring. Friends who play together stay together.

Taylor Swift & Emma Stone & Selena Gomez: Taylor has listed Emma and Selena as two of her best friends, even saying Gomez is like “her little sister”. I just give everyone around me a chance to understand what I’m going through. I tell my friends everything I’m feeling and they can relate to any situation I’ve been in,” Swift said.

Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale: Ashley calls Vanessa her twin sister. Vanessa says: “We were never competitive in any way, shape or form. We completely understand each other. She’s a lot of fun, and she’s just grounded.” Still, we couldn’t help but notice that Vanessa was absent at Ashley’s recent birthday party, where she was photographed all over Vanessa’s ex, Zac Efron. Teen drama! Except these High School Musical stars are in their twenties.

Oprah & Gayle: I’m convinced that, one day, the heavens will part, and God will ascend only to tell us he’s handing over the universe to Oprah and Gayle. Oprah has said of her friendship with Gayle: “She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person.”

Tom Cruise & Will Smith: Sorry, Jazzy Jeff. Will Smith left his funky Fresh Prince image to become BFFs with Hollywood’s cheesiest couch-jumping celeb. Tom is said to have introduced Will to Scientology.

Dakota Fanning & Kristen Stewart: In the rock biopic, The Runaways, these besties had to share an onscreen kiss, something that Fanning said wasn’t a big deal to either of them. “She’s become one of my best friends,” Fanning said. “I think because we’re friends, it’s just a thing. We’re actors, and it’s something that happens.”
