Jennifer Aniston. biography
Jennifer Joanna Aniston, born in Sherman Oaks, California on February 11, 1969, is a successful actress, director, and producer who acquired worldwide recognition when she landed the role of Rachel Greene in the hit NBC sitcom Friends. Daughter of soap opera star John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow, Jennifer Joanna Aniston started performing on stage while attending Fiorello H. La Guardia High School of the Performing Arts (also known as the "fame school"). A lot of hard work and years later, Jen earned a Golden Globe and Emmy Award for her role as Rachel, and a spot as Hollywood's most liked actress.
Jennifer relied on minor roles before she auditioned for NBC's sitcom Friends. She performed a cold read as Monica Geller but producers thought she fit better in the world of Rachel Green. The role of Monica went to her now-best friend Courtney Cox who initially auditioned for the role of Rachel. In the cast of Friend's original contracts, each cast member received 22,500 per episode for the first season. By the third season, the cast entered into collective negotiations rather than Warner Brothers' inclination for individual deals; the cast believed no one was a main character but rather an ensemble of equal status characters. In the ninth and tenth season, they were paid 1 million per episode, making Jen the highest paid TV show actress. She starred in 238 episodes and won both an Emmy Award and Golden Globe for her portrayal of a spoiled girl, forced to survive in New York City without the help of her rich daddy. They were the first cast to enter into collective negotiations, which led other ensemble casts to do the same, such as Modern Family.
Following her stardom as Rachel, Jennifer experimented with independent movie roles and big budget movies. She was taken seriously by Hollywood when she starred in Office Space, The Good Girl and Friends with Money, which showed a serious, talented actress not bound by Rachel Green-like roles. Her big budget appearances along side established comedians and actors include Bruce Almighty (Jim Carrey), Along Came Polly (Ben Stiller), Derailed (Clive Owen), Rumor Has It (Kevin Costner), The Break-Up (Vince Vaughn), and Bounty Hunter (Gerald Butler). In 2008, she starred alongside Owen Wilson in Marley and Me, which set the record for the largest Christmas day box office with more than 14 million in ticket sales and ranked number 1 at the box office. Her next film, He's Just Not That into You, opened on February 2009 and was ranked no. 1 opening weekend, making 27.5 million. Although the movie received mixed reviews, critics praised Jennifer's performance.
Apart from her Golden Globe and Emmy awards, Jennifer has racked up many awards that recognize her talent minus her 1997 nomination for a Raspberry award for worst new star. She was voted People's Magazine's Most Beautiful People of the World in 1999, 2002, and was on the cover in 2004. In 2003, Jennifer was described as a "red carpet ruler" by People's magazine and topped the 2003 Forbes list for being on more magazine covers than any other celebrity. In 2005, Jennifer made history by winning GQ woman of the year, being on the cover, and sharing the spot light with 50 Cent and Vince Vaughn.
While Jennifer has been recognized as a profound actress and star, a lot of her publicity was and will continue to be in account to her love life. Her most profound moment in the media was her divorce from Brad Pitt and the moments leading up to it, but Jen's love interests began way before the gorgeous Brad as explained in the timeline below.
