Jennie Garth has been keeping a health secret from her fans for years--she has heart problems.
Garth was diagnosed with a "leaky" heart valve seven years ago, and is finally speaking out about it in hopes of raising awareness for heart disease.
She tells
Access Hollywood, "I have a leaky valve and it’s a common thing. A lot of people have it and they don’t know they have it… (It) leaks blood.
"It’s your connection to your heart... your artery, the main artery that goes to your heart. It sort of flutters open and shut... It’s weird because sometimes when I’m resting I can feel a little weird fluttering."
Garth lost her father to heart disease last year, and is still mourning his death. She's hoping that by speaking out about her own condition, she can encourage more and more people to get regular check ups!
