Jennie Garth. biography
Born Jennifer Eve Garth on April 3, 1972, in Urban, Illinois, Jennie Garth decided she wanted to be a star at an early age, dropping out of high school in her junior year and moving to La La Land to pursue her life purpose as an actress. Once there, Garth joined the rest of the Hollywood newcomers, taking acting classes and snatching any audition that came her way. After months of denials, Garth landed a minor role in the extremely short-lived TV series Brand New Life (1989). Although the series only ran for a year, Garth quickly rebounded with a lead role in the teen-hit-drama series Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990 - 2000) a role that would ultimately propel her career into instant stardom.
While filming Beverly Hills, 90210, Garth continued to expand her career with a starring role in the made-for-TV film Star (1993), the TV drama Lies of the Heart: The Story of Laurie Kellogg (1994), the low-budget thriller Power 98 (1996) and the action thriller My Brother's War (1997). While filming the TV movie An Unfinished Affair (1996), Garth met her future husband and co-star Peter Facinelli. The two tied the knot in 2011, followed by three daughters and their divorce in 2012.
After Beverly Hills, 90210 came to an end in 2000, Garth snatched a heavily featured role on the show The Street, which ended after one season. She went on to star in the TV sitcom What I Like About You (2002-2006) before turning her attention to film, landing roles in the western The Last Cowboy (2003) with Bradley Cooper and the romantic comedy Watching the Detectives (2007). She then went on to compete in the reality series Dancing with the Stars (2007).
In 2008, Jennie revived her role as Kelly Taylor, whom was now a guidance counselor at West Beverly High, on CW Network's spinoff series 90210. She was on the show for two seasons before moving on to play Natasha in Candace Bushnell's web series The Broadroom (2009), followed by an appearance in NBC Universal's web series Garden Party (2010).
Jennie's most recent projects include, the made-for-TV films Accidentally in Love (2011), A Christmas Wedding Tail (2011), Village People (2012) and a starring role as herself in the reality show Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country (2012).
