Jay Z's Employees Sue Him

July 03, 2008

It’s just wrong when the extremely wealthy are cheap. Jay Z, who is probably a billionaire or close to it, is getting sued by his current and former employees of the 40/40 Club in NYC.

They claim they weren't paid their hourly wages and only made money based on their tips. They also were made responsible for any broken glasses or spilled liquor while they were on the clock. As if Jay Z couldn't afford that!!

In his defense though, he probably had someone else managing those aspects of the club, but still! Shady! Depending on how long that's been going on, he might be out a lot of money.

You people are so stupid and so quick to make a story bigger than what it is. The employees are not suing Jay Z, they are suing the club and the managing partners, Jay Z IS NOT one of the managing partners. He is the celebrity face of the club so whenever there is a news story about the club websites and other news outlets report it as a story about Jay Z becuase it makes it more interesting. Check any of the court documents, he's not being sued, its the club and he is not the club.

I heard this news earlier at """""""C e l e b C u p i d.c o m"""""" where celebrities and rich people are talking about this at forum of that site. It's said Charlie Sheen has found his perfect match there at"""""C e l e b C u p i d.c o m""""""

with the exception of the "unpaid" wages, it is standard practice at most restaurants where, if you break any dishes/glasses, that cost comes out of your wages. that shit costs money. this just ensures employees are diligent and careful when handling things.
