Jay Z discovered Rihanna in 2004 when he was President of Def Jam and took her under his wing.
Hollyscoop caught up with Jay Z at the 'Third Annual Two Kings Dinner' in Phoenix, Arizona where he was hosting with NBA star Lebron James during the NBA All-Star Weekend.
In response to the reports about Chris Brown allegedly attacking Rihanna, Jay Z said, "It's not a sound byte, this is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that."
Jay Z didn’t comment on Chris Brown, but did show his support for Rihanna. "I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."
Now that we’ve heard what Jay Z has to say, do you think it’s time for both Chris Brown and Rihanna to come out and address the issue? We'd love to hear Rihanna speak out about domestic violence and be the voice for all young women who have found themselves in similar situations.
We’re hoping talk show Queen Oprah is working overtime to land this interview, because you know she will get to the bottom of things.
