Jay-Z insists his attempt to quit rapping was "the worst retirement in history."
The hip-hop mogul - who announced he was giving up performing in 2002 - is getting ready to release his first album in three years, 'Kingdom Come', and is set to perform a string of concerts around the world.
He said: "It was the worst retirement, maybe, in history. Something, when you love it, is always tugging at you and itching at you, and I was putting it off and putting it off."
Jay-Z - who is rumored to be marrying girlfriend Beyoncé in November - also revealed that he's been working on a track with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. He added: "We met at a charity dinner and just really kept in touch.
"Chris sent me these beautiful chords for this song called 'Beach Chair'. I had Dr Dre put some drums on it. It's really, really incredible."
