Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien apparently haven’t had any contact with each other throughout this entire process. Leno talked with Oprah in an interview airing tomorrow, and told her, "I haven't talked to him through all this. No, I haven't."
Leno says he wanted to call Conan "but it didn't seem appropriate ... I don't know. I think it -- let things cool down and maybe we'll talk, you know."
Leno also isn’t offended by Conan’s jokes that were aimed at his late-night competitor. "They were jokes. And that's okay," he says, adding, "It's what we do, you know? You can't -- it's like being a fighter and say when you got punched in the head, did it hurt? Well, yeah. But you're a fighter. That's what you do."
In related news, Jay’s 10PM show will be ending on February 9th, rather than the 11th. He’ll resume his old post on March 1st. Conan is prohibited under his contract to start another TV job until September 1st. And if we were Conan, we’d just sit back and enjoy that $45 million for awhile.
