It's official! Conan O'Brien is out and Jay Leno is in!

Hollyscoop got a hold of a the press release NBC Universal Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin is planning on sending out later today. Here's what it had to say:

NBC may have screwed Conan O'Brien out of job, but he got a really nice 'we're sorry' check from them today. After days of non-stop negotiations, Conan and NBC reached a $45 million settlement, which is lot higher than originally predicted.

Network sources tell TMZ the "mitigation" clause was taken off the table, which means Conan will get a severance of $32.5 million, regardless of whether he gets another hosting gig.

Jay Leno defended himself on Monday night during his opening monologue claiming NBC's decision to move him back to 11:35pm was just "business."

It's official: after days of speculation, NBC is canceling Jay Leno's prime time show.

Jeff Gaspin, the chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment, announced on Sunday that NBC is canceling The Jay Leno Show as of February 12th.

He added that the network is hoping to keep Leno for an 11:35 p.m. time slot, Conan O'Brien for 12:05 p.m. and then Jimmy Fallon after that.
