Javier Bardem may be one of the most respected actors in the game right now, but back in the day, he was just your average struggling...um...stripper?!
Javier admits he wasn't sure what he wanted out of his life when he first started working so he decided to try his hand at several different things, and one of them was stripping.
He explained: “I did it as a joke, for some friends at first. But a guy in the bar we were in spotted me and hired me for the next day.
“I was so bad, I did it to ‘Leave Your Hat On’, and I had to get my mother and sister to cheer me on.”
Wow, most mothers would disown their children, talk about being a supportative mother!
Luckily he started getting more and more acting gigs and gave up his job as a stripper. He added to The Times newspaper: “I realized I was becoming an actor, so I thought, ‘OK, stop. If I’m going to do this, I have to do it right because of my surname.’ ”
