Actor Javier Bardem has a big week ahead of him. He is up for "Best Supporting Actor" for his portrayal of a serial killer in “No Country For Old Men”. Javier won the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and BAFTA for his performance and many believe he will take home the golden statue this coming Sunday.

Javier Ángel Encinas Bardem was born on March 1, 1969 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

In an interview for time-out he stated that he lost his virginity at the age of 19.

Before acting professionally, Bardem was a member of the Spanish national rugby team.

Javier is a two-time Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe-, SAG- and BAFTA Award- winning Spanish actor.

Javier has made over two dozen films in his native country.

Javier’s big break was starring in the critically acclaimed "Before Night Falls".

Bardem is currently in a relationship with "Jamón, Jamón" co-star Penélope Cruz.
