Janet Jackson insists that the announcement about her marrying her beau Jermaine Dupri was a joke.

Janet Jackson is playing down reports she'll wed boyfriend Jermaine Dupri in September - even though the producer started the rumors. Looks like it was more of a typical Hollywood publicity stunt. The day of the alleged wedding is actually the day that Janet's album hits stores.

Dupri told journalists he was planning a big wedding ceremony on September 26 when he hit the red carpet at the ESPY sports awards last month. She says, "He was basically saying that's the date of the release of the new album - and making kind of a joke about it."
