Janet Jackson said she used to party at Studio 54 when she was 11-years-old and that’s when she saw people doing coke for the first time.
And this parents, is why you don’t let your kids go into showbiz. The cast of “Toddlers & Tiaras” beware, Hollywood ‘aint all trophies and fancy wigs.
Janet Jackson will appear on Anderson Cooper on Monday February 20th and tells Anderson, “I used to go to [studio] 54 a lot. I would be on hiatus from “Good Times” and my mother said, ‘What do you want to do?’ and I would say, ‘I want to go to New York and visit Mike.’”
“I was ten. Ten/Eleven years old at [Studio] 54 dancing,” recalls Janet, “You know it was the first time I ever saw drugs. I couldn’t figure out why people were putting flour up their nose. I thought that was the stupidest thing.”
She thought the white stuff was flour? I though it was pixie sticks for the longest time.
Janet also opens up about her secret marriage to singer James DeBarge when she was only 18 years old.
“I was eighteen, I had gone though a lot in my life. I was in a relationship, no one knew that I was married. I was going through a lot with my marriage. It’s not a secret everyone knows he had issues at that time with drugs. It’s very difficult on a kid, on an eighteen year old. I was still a baby.”
Like I said, hide your kids from Hollywood or they will snort flour in a club and get married at prom.
Janet was also told by the producers of “Good Times” that she was too fat.
“[At] my very first episode and the wardrobe lady, while she was dress me, says I have to put bandages around your chest because your breasts are too big…the next season, just before we were to start, the producer’s called and said I was too heavy and I needed to lose weight and I look back at those episodes, I wasn’t a heavy kid.”
