Janet Jackson Hospitalized

Janet Jackson is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center suffering from a really bad flu. Jackson was taken to the hospital “late last night with a shortness of breath,” a source tells Us Weekly.

Her rep confirmed, “Janet is fine. She’s just battling this flu like everyone else.”

What happened to good old-fashioned flu medication? Since when do people have to get hospitalized for the flu?? Whatever the case is, we're glad Janet's doing well!

she must be paying for it herself. no insurance company would approve hospitalization for the flu - no matter how sick she was. we need national healthcare of politicians who aren't on the insurance industry payroll. hope she gets better soon.

If you guys would do some research, you will see that many people are hospitalized with severe cases of the flu every year. it is not uncommon depending on the strain and how bad you have it. Flu can turn into other things as well such as bronchotis (sp) can develop from flu as well as colds and sinuses. Pneumonia can occur as well. If a person is having problems breathing, it is always better to be seen my a doctor than to wait to see if you get better on your own. Also, insurance will pay for your overnight stay for flu if the hospital deems it appropriate.

How ignorant and not in an offending way. There is really no medication for the flu and thousands of people DIE from it. Good job miss thang... break it down for them :)

My lil cousin is one year old and was hospitalized for the flu last week. She lost 5lbs and didnt eat or drink nething other than Breast milk 4 a week. (yes... my aunt still breast feeds. lol) But she was in the hospital for 2 days. AND her Insurance paid 4 it, Val. Hope Janet is getn well.

Thanks all...I can't stand how stupid some people can sound--persumably because they are not educated on the facts but don't take the time to research about it before they write about it. This is why so many people still don't know much about HIV...why so many people do die during the FLU season because they don't know how sick you can really become from it. That is why the CDC urges flu shots to people especially if there is enough to go around.

also let me add that hospitals can also run tests to determine rather or not you have the flu within matter of minutes.
