Hold the phone… Janet Jackson is not the Cruella de Vil of pop music?
Despite the fact that it was previously reported Janet Jackson went claws out on her niece Paris, it turns out no such thing actually happened. According to a new report, Janet did not slap Paris or call her a “b*tch.”
TMZ, the source that originally reported the news that Janet physically and verbally abused Paris, has corrected their initial false report.
“Although we believed the story to be true when we published it, we have now determined it was not correct,” the new story reads. “Janet did not slap or otherwise touch Paris, nor did she verbally abuse her.”
Janet Jackson's attorney Blair G. Brown told The Insider that Janet is threatening legal action towards the source that originally reported the claims and that the "false statements are highly damaging to Ms. Jackson's reputation and have caused her significant harm."
The now falsified report went down something like this:
Janet and her siblings arrived at the Calabasas compound where Paris, Prince and Blanket were staying. Michael’s siblings reportedly approached the kids and Janet tried to take Paris’ cell phone away. (A previous statement to Hollyscoop seems to confirm this portion of the story.)
When Paris resisted, Janet allegedly slapped her and said, “You're a spoiled little bitch!"
“This is our house. Not the Jackson family house. Get the f**k out!" Paris reportedly shot back.
The whole incident was recorded on surveillance cameras. Though it would appear that some sort of argument went down, there is no actual evidence of an assault.
So, readers… You can now drag that memory to the toilet section of your brain and hit “flush.” It so didn’t happen.
What did happen is this… Katherine Jackson, the kids’ previous guardian, went missing. She ended up being found in at an Arizona resort on doctor-order R&R.
However, while out of town, temporary guardianship was granted to Katherine’s grandson TJ. Now that Katherine’s back in L.A., she and TJ will fill for permanent joint custody together.
According to the RadarOnline, Diana Ross – the backup guardian according to Michael’s will – is happy to sign off on the joint custody move.
In the meantime, the Jacksons seem to be back on their feet. Michael’s brothers are touring and Paris’ tweets are no longer making headlines.
