After nearly seven years of dating
Janet Jackson and her beau
Jermaine Dupri have reportedly split!
Jermaine was noticeably absent from
Michael Jackson's memorial service last week, but at the time a pal claimed it was because he "doesn't attend funerals."
So why would they split after 7 years? "You shouldn't mix business with pleasure," a mutual pal tells Us Weekly.
"Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate. Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet's more shy."
Speaking of being out there, newly single Jermaine was spotted spinning at a Michael Jackson tribute last weekend at MIXX nightclub in Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Jermaine's rep couldn't be reached for comment by the time this story went to press.
Janet is reportedly "devastated" by the breakup, but is keeping herself busy by caring for Michael's children. This is actually really sad, we really thought these two were gonna make it.
He recently got a huge tattoo of Janet's face as the Virgin Mary on his side, so he won't be forgetting about Janet anytime soon!
