Blaine has fast become a fan favorite since he first appeared on the show back in October 2010 and everyone has been anxiously waiting to see if him and Kurt would become more than friends. And they finally did last night.
The show tackled bullying in the same show that introduced Blaine, and over time they’ve continued to remind fans that there’s nothing wrong with being who you are—gay or straight.
When asked about the timing of the gay kiss, Jane Lynch told Hollyscoop exclusively at the Glee Paleyfest, I don't make those decisions about right time, but I'm glad they did it. I'm glad that there was a kiss between a boy and a boy on television. That were a lot of young people watching it, so, you know, we'll see it's just another way to love."
She added, “I don't think there's anything scandalous about our show at all".
Meanwhile, Chris Colfer, who plays Kurt thinks the timing was impeccable!
Chris told Hollyscoop, "I think so, I think if we had postponed it any longer it would've been madness and insane, so yeah."
He added, "I think it's good to show High School as it really is, I mean, I was just in public High School…it was just like that, so I think it's great to have a real portrayal of High School."
When asked about his characters relationship with Blaine he confessed, "It's been pretty good so far, like they're hasn't really been too many bumps in the road, but I feel like every relationship I would expect for it to go through it's rollercoaster of emotions."
And Darren Criss, who plays Blaine on the show, wasn’t so much concerned about the timing of the kiss, because the relationship was already established.
Darren told Hollyscoop, "Right time or wrong time, I don't know, I never really thought about that. I mean, I feel like they could've done it whenever because they have set it up so well.
“Because they decided to do it now, it worked, they had the preceding scenes make a lot of sense and it was cool to put it in such a jam packed episode, so much going on with regional’s and the new songs and everything, so yeah, I mean because it happened and because it's been received I will say ‘yeah it was the right time’, it is what it is."
Glee creator Ryan Murphy says he made sure they kissed just for the fans. "I don’t think it’s too much if it's done, you know, honestly and with the right intent. You know, I mean part of the stuff for some of that was just the fan demand for those two was so strong, so we listen to that once in a while, but, I don't know, I love that story."
But Glee star Matthew Morrison thinks it’s all about the right timing. And he couldn’t be more proud to be apart of such an amazing show.
Matthew told Hollyscoop, "I do think it was the right time. I thought it was so special. I thought it was something that people were ready for, and I thought it was beautifully done, it was like a nice, long kiss, and actually the first time I saw it was last night when I watched it, and it was just, I thought it was so well done. But my favorite relationship is Kurt and his father right now, and I think it's such an important relationship to have in our society right now."
Cory Monteith, who plays Fin on the hit show, has his own love affair with Rachel, but couldn’t help but gush about the amazing gay kiss on the show.
"Yeah, I think it was [perfect timing]. You don't want to drag things out like that longer then they should be. And everybody was calling for it, and it was awesome. I thought that it was done incredibly well."
"I think they're both really valid, interesting relationships, and I think that it's not arbitrary. People aren't just making out cause you know they don't have anything else to do but make out, so you know, they're good relationships. So, I'm interested to see where they go.
What did you think of the kiss? Fans were thrilled to finally see the great kiss on the show last night, but if you happened to miss it, check it out below!

Jane opens up to More magazine about almost missing out on Glee, being sober for almost 20 years, how she proposed to her wife, and being "a little OCD."
Here are some highlights from the interview via Celebitchy:
On almost missing out on playing Sue Sylvester:
True to her workaholic form, Lynch was already committed to two other series (Starz’s Party Down and an ABC project) when the Glee offer arrived. This meant that for the first four episodes of Glee, Lynch’s status was temporary. “We were keeping our fingers crossed that I got to stay.”
On how she met her wife:
Lynch met her wife, Lara Embry, last year at a lesbian rights fundraiser. A week after meeting, Lynch flew to Sarasota, Florida, where Embry lived. Just before takeoff, Lynch called Embry and said, “We need to acknowledge how courageous both of us are that I’m coming into town and you really don’t know me. And I’m hopping on a plane to visit someone I really don’t know. So for a moment, let’s give ourselves a little pat on the back.”
On getting hitched:
After six months of dating, Embry proposed to Lynch. On May 31, the two women exchanged matching wedding rings in a small ceremony. “I shouldn’t say this, but I’d never dated anyone that I wanted to marry. I didn’t think it was going to be out there for me. But the minute we were married, I felt the difference: I felt like I am no longer alone.” Lynch says she loves being able to realize two wishes many mothers have for their daughters: “I got married—and I married a doctor!”
On becoming a stepmother:
Lynch’s wife has an eight-year-old daughter. When asked, ‘What’s it like to become a parental figure for the first time in midlife?’ Lynch replies, “I haven’t really done it [on a day-to-day basis] yet. I took her to school. I picked her up. I went to lunch with her. So I kind of had a test run. We’re pretty darn good together.”
About being “a little OCD”:
Lynch is currently renovating her home to make room for Embry and her daughter. Until they move in together, the actress is confronting what she feels is a holdover from single life—her obsession with tidiness. “I’m a little OCD,” admits Lynch who says she stares longingly at the dozen or so boxes of Embry’s belongings that have been shipped and fantasizes about paring down. “I don’t want to start going through them and saying, ‘Well, we can get rid of this, and that!’ But it’s hard.”
On deciding to become sober in 1991:
“I was hungover all the time.” One evening she told a friend, “I’m pouring out this glass of wine and never drinking again.” She kept her promise. “Relatively speaking, my personal bottom was rather benign.” Lynch says she used to stand up at 12-step meetings and apologetically say, “Had I known I’d be telling my story over and over again, I would have made it a lot better.”
On turning 50:
“I like the equanimity that comes with my age. I don’t have big highs, and I don’t have big lows. Even if this job goes away tomorrow, the nonstop ambition is a thing of the past for me. I’ve mellowed.”

Jane told Ellen, "I was more closeted in my life when I was younger.” She added, “I used to lay in bed at night and say, ‘How will I come out or won’t I come out.’
"It made it so much easier for me when you [came out]," said Lynch. Lynch then mentioned how much harder it would have been if she were a Julia Roberts-type actor. In response, Ellen asked, "So you're saying Julia Roberts is gay?"
"That's what I'm saying," Lynch joked. Check out the hilarious interview below!

EW is reporting that stage veteran Carol Burnett is the latest to join the eclectic cast. She’ll play Sue Syvester’s (Jane Lynch) mother. What a perfect match!
Show sources say Burnett’s character is a Nazi hunter….however you want to interpret that! As most Gleeks will remember, Sue referenced her parents in an episode last season. No word on whether anyone has been cast as the father.
Carol is a great addition to the cast! Aside from her stage work, Burnett is hilarious, and has done some TV guest appearances recently as well. She played Bree’s evil stepmother on Desperate Housewives in 2006 and a Rockette-turned-strip-club owner on Law & Order: SVU, for which she was nominated for an Emmy!
