Jamie Lynn Sings Ballad About Big Sis Britney Spears

Jamie Lynn Spears performs (and does a great job at that) a country ballad she wrote about her big sister Britney, entitled “I Look Up To You.”

Both the girls have been used and abused by the media, many of their life choices exploited again and again for the sake of sensational headlines.

Britney’s road from ruin to redemption needs no recap, but feel free to browse our index, just for fun.

Jamie Lynn is best known for her portrayal of Zoey in Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101” that aired from 2005 to 2008. In 2007, she shocked the world with a pregnancy announcement, at the age of 16.

She somehow managed to avoid becoming the fodder of MTV’s “16 and Pregnant,” and has since moved to Nashville to raise her daughter and work on what she hopes will be a successful career in country music.

Judging from this YouTube clip of her performance last night at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley Bar and Grill, she definitely does have the talent. And the hair y’all – big, blond and fabulous!

She introduced the number saying, “You can imagine who I wrote it about. I hope y'all like it a lot."

The lyrics talk about the loss of innocence, and perhaps her own when she says that she’d be lonely without her sister by her side.

But it’s the chorus that really says it all:

So whether you’re a blue sky smiling

Or whether you’re a grey sky crying

I look up to you

I look up to you

Whether you’re the sunlight shining down

Or you hide behind a cloud

I look up to you

I look up to you

I mean, that’s cute right?

And it has to be comforting for Britney to know that regardless of her actual or merely perceived faults, and no matter how much she screws things up, she’ll always have Jamie Lynn who idolizes her, and loves her unconditionally.
