Jamie Lynn Shows Off Her Baby!

Well there you have it folks! Here are the first pictures of one of the most talked about teenage mothers of 2008. Jamie Lynn Spears talked to OK! Magazine about her pregnancy, the birth of her child and how it’s much easier to raise a child away from Hollywood.

Here are some tidbits from the interview!

On raising a child away from Hollywood: "Around here, everyone has the same focus…The focus is family, and that's a good way to live."

On how Casey Aldridge handled the labor: "Once I got in there, my doctor was just so calm and so good it was not bad at all," she says. "I was just talking to Casey. And you know what's so weird? I was asking him if he was okay. He was like, 'Yeah.' We were both so excited."

On her new born baby Maddie: “She is very good," says Jamie Lynn. "She'll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I'll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There's no screaming and crying… We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I've worked one out with her, and we're happy going about our little life."

I completely agree with Janira. It doesnt matter at what age you have your baby as long as you can take care of it. People who talk bad about teen moms are miserable women who have more than 2 kids and are out of control. they cant control their kids because they are bad mothers. I love in the city with the highest teen moms birth rate. and i let let you know these women are still going to school and some have already graduated. they go to school and work and still have time for the children. they do more than all you "wait till your 25 and over to have a baby" bullshitters. I am a teen mom. I have my diploma and i am in college right now. My baby is two years old and well taken care of. There's nothing missing in her life. sooo ha ha haaaaaa. keep talking crap about us. your just mad becuase we can accomplish so much more than you with less privelages.

Carmen be honest. Are YOU as a teen mother taking care of your kid without mommy's help and govt assistance? Are you, as a teen, really caring this kid on your OWN shoulders. I highly doubt it, but if you are you're the exception. That's my point Carmen, most 16 yr can't take care of their baby ON THEIR OWN. It does matter how old you are to bring a kid into the world. 25 is a hell a lot better than 15. Teen parents still depend on their own parents or like Reggie said the tax payers. Any one who advocates teen pregancy is out of their FUCKIN MINDS!!!!

The people that say you should wait until your over 25 to have a child are people that have actually experienced life and know how hard it can be with a child. They know that to give your child the best possible life it is usually better to wait until your mature enough and financially stable enough to raise a child. That doesnt mean that a girl that gets pregnant as a teen is a bad mom, or will never accomplish anything in their life because they chose to keep their baby. Yes it happens, yes they can be a great mother despite the situation, does it mean that they will likely end up in the best situation for that child....NO. I dont care how well a mother is doing, graduated from high school, got into college, working two jobs, providing food and shelter for that child, thats all great but more then likely if that girl would have waited to be a mature adult, waited until she established some credit, had saved money, become somewhat financially stable and established a career she would have been able to provide a better upbringing for that child. That doesnt mean shes a shitty mother, that means she providing as best she can in the situation, I applaud mothers that can do that. That doesnt mean its always the case, and it doesnt mean that some mothers that are married and financially stable and older wouldnt fail in raising their children. Flat out, teen mothers are going to have it harder, and for everyone involved in most cases it is better that they wait. That doenst meant they are doomed to be bad mothers. Just in most cases they wont have it as well then if they had waited.

Carmen, I had my child at 26 and I had a husband who loved and cared about me and wanted to be a father.Even then taking care of a baby was hard so spare me the teen pregnancy is just wonderful bit. I'm 99.9% sure you are not working 8-5 paying your own rent/mortgage and other bills. Yours and Janira's posts shows you're just 2 stupid little girls with a lot to learn.

Carmen.... I doubt teen mothers are accomplishing more than teens without children. Most teen mothers are on public assistance. You haven't answered the question. Are you taking care of your child solely on your own? I doubt it too, so stop preaching the virtues of teen motherhood to those of us who take care of own children, on our own. Carmen - congratulations on reiterating the fact that teenage pregnancy is a bad idea. What an awesome example you are setting for your two year by insulting mature adults (virtual strangers, no less) because they were smart enough to either wait, or use protection at a young age. Brittany: There is a lot that can be done about teen pregancy. How about having a purpose in your life that does not include laying down with some boy who will run for the hills when you tell him you are knocked up. What happened to going to college, trying to learn something, joining a sorority, meeting new people? Or GETTING MARRIED then pregnant. I don't know the stats but I'm sure at least 80% of teenage moms are dependent financially on their own parents and on the tax payer's dime. That's just not something to aspire to. There are exceptions yes. Like for example me. We did use a condom and it wasnt effective. I am young and so is my bf. I am 13 and half weeks and I work a full time job at Aarons and my bf is in the military that is how I met him. There are some of us who can make it and not all young moms are on welfare and all that other stuff. I do respect Jamie Lynn and other young moms for taking resposibilty for their actions. And I know many women in the mid 20's and 30's that are married and have kidsbut still get help from their parents when they need it.

I agree with Marie completely. Shame on OK magazine (which I will now for sure never buy) for putting her on the cover and glamourizing this situation. I never encouraged and basically discouraged my daughters from looking to Britney or Jamie Lynn or anyone else in Hollywood as role models, because time and time again they all prove they are not. Best of luck to Jamie Lynn because as "good a feeling this is now", how much you want to bet she is singing a different tune in a few years. Stay tuned, she doesn't begin to realize that raising a child takes a lifetime and then some.

Ok, I dont disagree with teen preg. if you are able to provide for the child by yourself without gov. help. Being a parent does take responsibility. But it is the parents responsibility not the governments responsibity to take care of and provide for your child. Im not saying jamie lynn is wrong nor OK mag. for publishing the material jamie lynn has the money to take responsibility for their child financially. I realize that teens are going to have sex but they need to use not only condoms but the girls should be on birth control. And it is not only up to the children but parents talk with your children about sex. If your worried your teen is having sexual relationships then put your child on birth control. Let them know the concequences. Children are not the only ones to blame. Parents need to educate their children on these matters. I had a wonderful relationship with my parents growing up we descussed sex and they educated me on the subject. My parents were concerned with me having sex so they put me on birth control and taught me to use condoms at 15. Mind you I didnt have sex till I was almost 21. I knew the terms that applied to sex and the responsibilities that came with it.

i agree with carmon, my mom was 17 when she had my sister. it was a lot harder for here too, because my sister was born with Cerbal Palsy. my mom had no money support from her family or government. she went to school when to work then picked up my sister from daycare and went home to clean cook play with my sister do homework and still make time to see friends! so leave it alone. there are alot of girls out there that get knocked up young. Well I just wanted to let you all know that I had my daughter when I was 18 and I am still with the father, we are married and taking care of our little girl all on our own. We have never had any kind of assistance. So some teens moms can do it!

Look ii dont know why everyone's bagging out teenage pregnancies .. Sometimes its an accident .. but haven't you all herd that whats done is done ! .. and so what if they keep there baby? .. maybe there not selfish enough to kill it with an abortion ..
