Two babies in one house is a lot of diapers.
James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly Brook welcomed number four, Joshua, into their family last month. The “Dawson Creek’s” star shared some of his veteran parenting secrets now that he is a two-time dad.
“Sleep when they sleep. That's always a good one, if you can,” James told Hollyscoop at the Trident Liberate Fun Tax Day Event.
James and Kimberly had both Joshua and his 17-month old sister Olivia together. The couple married after James divorced his previous wife, actress Heather McComb.
Two kids can create quite a handful for parents. But, for James, as long as you can keep the one that can walk in your sight, you’ll be in good shape.
“Make sure you pay attention to the older one,” said James. “Because the little one is pretty much fine as long as you have someone holding him.”
Right now, everyday is new for the young family. James and Kimberly are enjoying watching Joshua and Olivia “discover life.”
That is, until they discover the terrible twos…
Still, James seems excited as ever to be a father and makes no effort to hide it on his Twitter.
The actor is currently starring alongside Krysten Ritter in the new ABC original comedy series, “Don’t Trust the B- In Apartment 23.” When asked about working with Ritter, James had nothing but good things to say. “Krysten's a force of nature man. Yeah, she's fun,” said James.
