He tweeted, "Best day of my life so far. The woman I love did me the honor of became my wife today... I look forward to earning her for the rest of my life. (sic)"
James met Kimberly while on vacation last July in Israel. He was still married to Heather McComb at the time but clearly Kimberly left an impression on him.
But he's not a cheater. He actually filed for legal separation from Brooke in June 2009, he later filed papers at a Los Angeles court citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the end of their six-year marriage.
Congrats to James and Kimberly, it's certainly been an eventful year for them.

“Yes, it’s true – the woman I love and I are expecting our first child,” Van Der Beek tweeted. “Currently experiencing joy on levels I never knew existed.”
According to People magazine, James and Kimberly met shortly after him and his ex-wife Heather Ann McComb split. He filed for divorce in November 2009. He literally just sorted out the details of his divorce and he already has a baby on the way?
He seems really excited about it, so congrats to the happy couple!

The couple has stayed out of the limelight for years but friends suspected that there was trouble in paradise after they put their $2.5 million dollar Studio City home on the market back in March.
James’ marriage must have been over for awhile now, because that would explain why he stepped out on the town last week with a new woman.
Hollyscoop spoke with James on the red carpet for the Puma African Bazaar event, where he’s arrived with a lady friend. He seemed in good spirits, talking about his upcoming projects, and his new year’s resolutions to just enjoy life and stay positive. We wish him the best in his newfound singledom!
James and Heather said "I Do" back in 2003 in a private ceremony in Malibu six months after 'Dawson's Creek' went off the air.
They did such a great job of keeping their marriage low key, we almost forgot about them! We wish them both the best of luck.
