Picture perfect BFF’s James Marsden and Josh Hopkins are heating up the beach in Maui.
In town for the Maui Film Festival the pair have had plenty of time between screenings to soak up some sun, and make the rest of us just a wee bit hot and sweaty.
Marsden is this years recipient of the festivals Nova award, honoring “a film artist whose stunningly original and seamless performances consistently infuse each character they play with unique insight and wisdom”
Marsden -- who has been hard at work for nearly 20 years -- first really gained attention through his role as Cyclops in X-Men. Since the 2000 release, and the follow up film’s in the comic book inspired series, his career has continued to gain momentum, landing him roles in movies like Hairspray, 27 Dresses, Straw Dogs and a recurring spot on the hit series 30 Rock.
His newest release, Bachelorette produced by Will Ferrell, will screen directly after his Maui awards ceremony and hit theaters in September. He stars alongside Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan as three friends who are asked to be bridesmaids. They partake in a night of debauchery and high jinx ensues to the point of possibly threatening the nuptials.
Of Marsden’s talent, the film festival’s event director Barry River said, “his range as an actor continues to expand with every passing year and all of us at the Maui Film Festival have no doubt that he will continue to for many, many years to come.”
Judging from these beach snaps, we’re confident Marsden’s career will have some longevity.
And if it gets these two back in town, we would like to go ahead and nominate Cougar Town resident Hopkins as a future award recipient…. if only for our own personal gain (read: more pics, please).
