James Franco Lands Book Deal

He's been Spiderman's best friend, Harvey Milk's lover, and a stoner--all while being enrolled at Columbia University.

James Franco may be a Hollywood heartthrob, but his heart belongs to creative writing. Which is why he's just inked a deal to release a collection of short stories.

Franco has landed a book deal with publishers Simon & Schuster, his agent confirms to Fox News.

It's unknown how much Scribner's paid, or when the book will be published, but publishing appears to run in the Franco family - his mother Betsy is a bestselling children's author! Who knew?

Would you pick up a copy of his book? Or are you content with just watching him on the big screen?

Considering that he has a degree in English from UCLA and wrote his departmental honors thesis here,in the least he's educated in the field and well-prepared to write an interesting book.
