Every gay joke under the sun was used during the Comedy Central roast of James Franco and now the actor has responded with a good-humored comeback of his own.
“I was like, ‘Great! Bring on the gay jokes!’ because these aren’t insults at all,” he told The Daily Beast. “I don’t even care if people think I’m gay, so it was like, ‘Awesome!’ I mean, I wish I was. … I wish I was gay.”
Gay rumors have followed James around for years, not that it matters to him. He’s even played with the idea in previous interviews—“Maybe I’m just gay,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2011.
“It’s not something that bothers me in the slightest,” James continued to The Daily Beast. “It hasn’t gone away and I get asked about it from all sides. It’s partly my doing and partly not my doing.”
