James Bond

Daniel Craig recently won the public over with his Kardashian diss, and now the actor is lined up to make history as the longest serving Bond (James Bond).

The 43 year-old actor is currently shooting Skyfall, his third James Bond movie, and producer Michael G Wilson is hoping to nab him for five more.

"Daniel's been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man,” Wilson said. “The fans love him and I don't think there's a better actor to play the part.”

If there's any role Javier Bardem can take on, creepy villain is definitely it. He was terrifying in No Country For Old Men, and I'm not just referring to that hairdo.

Now, the Oscar-nominated actor is taking on another bad guy role—a villain in the 23rd James Bond movie. Bardem confirmed the news with Nightline:

"I'm a huge fan of the James Bond saga. When I was little, I went watching Mr. Connery doing James Bond with my father. I saw all of them, so to play that is going to be fun. Who in the world would think I'd be in one of those movies?"

Why do I imagine Javier Bardem flipping a coin when he says all this?

Angelina Jolie is one of the world's most sexiest women--but was she tooooo sexy for Bond?

Jolie explained that she was offered the role of girl in Casino Royale, but she turned it down because she wanted Daniel Craig's part instead.

“They wanted me to play a Bond girl in Casino Royale,” explained Jolie, who stars in new action movie Salt. “I said, ‘Actually, I’d prefer to play him; I’d rather be Bond.’ It was a joke — kind of. It was an interesting conversation.

She added, “Salt is nothing like Bond. In so many spy films women are femme fatales and we wanted to avoid that. My character doesn’t use her sexuality to get anything. It’s the roughest I’ve looked. When we fight, it gets ugly. Somebody breaks my nose in the film. It’s not pretty.

She had some advice for future screenwriters, “I think when people write things for women — at least with the films I’ve done in the past, such as Tomb Raider — they’re not serious. They’re not raw. They’re not hard. So when we wanted a real female action hero, we looked towards something that wasn’t written for a woman.”

The Bond Girl role eventually went to Vesper Lynd and Eva Green. Guess it takes two hot girls to make up for one Angelina.
Daniel Craig is still holding on to the idea of making another James Bond flick. We have to be honest, we're still holding on to the idea of seeing Daniel Craig in Speedos as well.

MGM does not have the financing for for James Bond 23 so the project is currently on an indefinite hold. That's not stoping Craig from being hopeful.

“The new Bond movie is on hold but I am chomping at the bit to get going on it as quickly as possible,” he said.“I love playing Bond — I don’t want to be away from it for too long.”

We're sure once the economy picks up someone will cough up the cash to make the flick. We're definitely on board for another James Bond.
So much for seeing Daniel Craig topless on an exotic beach with tiny swimming trunks! All plans for the next James Bond film have been stopped and the project is dead.

Back in April, they announced that the project was on an indefinite hold, but they are having difficulty getting the project off the ground due to lack of finances.

James Bond is Broke

MGM is currently looking for financing for James Bond 23 which was going to be directed by Kate Winslet’s ex, Sam Mendes but things don’t seem to be going anywhere.

MGM is in a financial crisis considering the fact that they are currently in $3.7 billion debt but that’s not stopping them from working on The Hobbit. That project is still underway.
Thanks a lot, recession! Now we have no idea when the next James Bond movie will be coming out! There have been rumors flying that Bond 23 would shoot this year, and that it would shot in 3D!

Well you can put your fantasies on hold for the moment, because pre-production has been halted indefinitely.

Lady Gaga to Record Bond Theme

MGM confirmed the news, saying, “Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely.

"We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of Bond 23.”

Maybe this has something to do with the fact that MGM is in $3.7 billion debt! They’re pretty far in the hole! Maybe if they didn’t have to pay their actors such astronomical salaries they’d be in better shape.
With the next James Bond movie in pre-production, it’s time for a new artist to record the theme song! And this time around, we hear it’s going to be none other than Lady Gaga!

Sources tell The Sun that movie executives really want the hitmaker for the track. "Bond bosses are all huge Gaga fans. Her sound and sense of drama make her the top choice.

Lady Gaga: There's No Telephone Sequel

Gaga has the look as well as the voice to tackle a thundering ballad. She's a great songwriter too. This is perfect on every level,” says one source.

Bond theme songs are always recorded by huge artists, like Paul McCartney, Madonna, Tina Turner, and more recently Jack White and Alicia Keys. Gaga is the logical next artist to do it!
'Slumdog Millionaire' actress Freida Pinto is set to become the next Bond girl--and the role comes with a hefty paycheck.

Pinto has just signed a multi million pound deal to play James Bond's love interest in the 23rd Bond flick, which will be directed by Kate Winslet's now estranged husband Sam Mendes.

A source said: "Sam has been talking about Bond for months now and is so excited about it. The project has been in the pipeline for months and Freida was always the dream Bond girl, but initially she was nervous about accepting it. This is going to be the most ambitious 007 yet. Sam plans to reinvent the genre.

"Peter Morgan, who wrote 'The Queen', has penned the first draft of the script and it promises to be visually stunning."

Actress Olivia Wilde has also been approached to play a double-crossing UN worker based in Afghanistan. Two hotties and Daniel Craig? We're sold!

You ready for Daniel Craig's abs in your face? Well you're about to see a whole lotta Bond. According to reports, the next installment in the British spy movie franchise has been delayed because the movie bosses want the next flick to be in 3D!

An insider said: "The 23rd Bond movie has been put back a few months and that has given them the time to prepare to film it in 3-D. Everyone involved in the project is really excited because it will take the franchise in a new direction."

The yet to titled flick had already been delayed due to issues surrounding the sale of MGM Studios and now this? Will we ever see a new Bond flick?

Producer Michael G. Wilson previously said: "Our timeline's a little up in the air, so we have to be flexible. We just don't know enough about the situation to comment, but we know it's uncertain."

Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens--hope the end product is worth the wait!
