Woohoo! I'm trending on Twitter! Oh, wait, no, I'm dead.

This morning subjected us to yet another celebrity death hoax. Tuesday night, both Facebook and Twitter were buzzing with the news of Jackie Chan's death. Again.

Good news, Chan is alive and well. Well, most likely. There's been no update to his Facebook or Twitter page since Tuesday, and his reps have not responded to the claims. Probably because they can't keep up with them. Chan was rumored to be dead back in March as well.

Chan is definitely not the first subject of celebrity death hoaxes. In fact, it's been a pretty busy year for them. Here are 10 celebs you might have thought died in 2011.

Hilary Duff: Reports of Hilary's death surfaced on August 11. She apparently fell off of a cliff at a golf course in New Zealand. Well, that's creative.

This was a no-brainer! Jackie Chan has joined the cast of the Karate Kid remake, called Kung Fu Kid.

He’ll play the wise kung-fu master Mr. Han, who teaches the young boy everything he knows. Will Smith’s son Jaden stars in the film, and has already been prepping for the role in Beijing.

Also joining the cast is Taraji P. Henson, who plays the single mother. Ken Stovitz, one of Will Smith’s production partners at Overbrook Entertainment, said at the ceremony Saturday that Kung Fu Kid will be set in modern-day Beijing.

China Film Group chairman Han Sanping said shooting will last three months.

Based on the cast, this could be a really great remake! We can’t imagine it holding a candle to the original, but having Taraji P. Henson on board gives us hope!

The Karate Kid remake business is not sitting well with us. Why mess with a classic? But every great 80s movie is being butchered these days, so it was to be expected.

As Hollyscoop previously reported, Will Smith’s son Jayden is rumored to be reprising the role that Ralph Macchio made famous. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed it as well. And now we hear Mr. Miyagi will be played by Jackie Chan.

According to The Insider, Chan is in final negotiations to join the cast, and be Jaden’s mentor.

If the remake has to be done, we’re glad Jackie Chan is at least taking on the role. We couldn’t think of a better person for the role. He definitely brings in the box office numbers. Filming will begin this summer in Beijing. What do you think of Chan as Mr. Miyagi?
