'Jackass' Star Ryan Dunn on How He Wants to Be Remembered

Ryan Dunn of Jackass fame was involved in a fatal car crash in Pennsylvania early Monday morning.

Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash, which happened at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. The crash happened around 3 a.m. No word on who was driving the car, but Dunn’s Porsche caught on fire in the crash and, hours later, a tow truck arrived on scene to remove the vehicle.

Bam Margera’s mother confirmed with TMZ that Dunn had passed away from the crash. Hours before his death, Dunn posted a Twitter photo of he and two friends drinking.

Dunn has appeared in all three Jackass movies, including the latest one, Jackass 3D. He also had one season of his own show, Homewrecker, where he helped practical joke victims get revenge.

Hollyscoop spoke with Dunn recently, and he told us he told us how he wants to be remembered in life. “[Cary Elwis] was in the movie ‘Men in Tights’ and ‘Liar Liar’. He’s the actor that is awesome at every role he plays—‘Princess Bride’—he is amazing, but nobody knows who he is. Everyone says ‘who?’ That’s the role I want. I want to be so good you just remember his characters not his name.”

Dunn stayed grounded in the midst of his rise to fame with Jackass, telling us:

“I live in Pennsylvania in the mountains so if my buddy gets a Honda I get excited for him.”

Chief Deputy Coroner David Garner confirmed only one vehicle was involved in the crash. A Pennysilvania radio station reported that the area of Route 322 that Dunn was driving on isn’t very well lit. According to the station, the Porsche lost control, slammed into a tree, and burst into flames.

Details are still unfolding. May Dunn rest in peace.
