Remember when Hulk Hogan had that sex tape? Where he was boning his friends’ wife because that’s normal? And then the sex tape was edited to a PG-13 version and Gawker posted it online? And then Hulk sued Gawker, his friend, and the woman in the sex tape for “damages?”
Yeah, well, nothing’s going to change! The sex tape stays on the internet in all it’s glory. I believe it was Gawker who said his private parts were the size of a “thermos.” But that's beside the point.
In a preliminary motion in court today, a judge ruled that Gawker was totally within it’s First Amendment rights to post the video online.
Not only that, but the judge said, “this is an example of where the proverbial ‘cat is out of the bag,’” OK in human speak, that means, “Everyone’s already seen it, so why bother taking it down.” That’s what that means.
But this was ONLY a preliminary hearing, so at the end of the trial, the judge could still make Gawker take down the vid. But what’s the point, you’ve all watched it. The damage is done. But I guess our children, and our children’s children will never experience it….note to self: Download Hulk’s sex tape for posterity. Ewww, gross.
