Hugh Jackman Turns Down Hosting Oscars

Hugh Jackman may have been the best thing to ever happen to the Academy Awards, but we’re not going to be seeing him host again next year.

Sadly, the Aussie actor has opted to pass up emceeing the event.

According to EW, Hugh was approached already for next year’s Oscars, but shot them down. So now, the committee is back to square one!

Apparently Jackman’s reasoning for opting out was because he wants to focus on shooting The Reel Steel, which will begin production in the spring, right after he wraps up his Broadway show A Steady Rain.

The 82nd annual Academy Awards, to be held March 7, will be produced by Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman. Who is your pick for Oscar host next year?

I thought he did well. I hope it's someone who should actually be there, not some idiot like Russell Brand or Justin Timberlake.

The revolving door at the Academy Awards...I guess inviting him to be a member of the Academy was not a good enough bribe! Oh well, as long as it isn't Billy Crystal or Russell Brand!!!

I nominate Justin Timberlake to host the Oscars. He did an excellent job hosting the ESPY awards and he is a classic song and dance man, with comedic skills. He also is an actor, so he has a connection to the movie industry. And all that he has charm, personality and humbleness that makes him the perfect choice.
