Hollyscoop has reported in the past, Playboy has been struggling in the recession like a lot of other companies. The brand lost $13 million in the first three months of this year.
Sources say Hef, who is 83, is considering retiring and courting Branson to take over. But it comes with a hefty price tag of $300 million!
A Playboy spokesperson denies any offers have been made, but admits Hefner would "listen to proposals that could create value for all of our shareholders".
One source told the
New York Post, “Everyone says he’ll never let go, that he’ll take it with him to the grave.”
What about Hugh’s two sons? We thought they would take over before anyone else! They can’t too happy about this idea! When you’re dad is Hugh Hefner, you need to step up to the plate!
