Hugh John Mungo Grant was born on September 9, 1960 in London, England and enrolled at Oxford University prior to his acting genes kicking in. After making his acting debut in Privileged (1982), Hugh landed his big break as Charles in the hit comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994).
Hugh’s memorable performance led to his first Golden Globe for Best Actor. A year later, Hugh broke onto the American market with a lead role opposite Julianne Moore in the romantic comedy Nine Months (1995).
Despite being arrested for fooling around with prostitute Divine Brown in a parked in Hollywood that same year, Hugh bounced back with memorable performances in Sense and Sensibility (1995), Restoration (1995) and the romantic hit comedy Notting Hill (1999) opposite Julia Roberts.
Hugh’s celebrity status continued to reach new heights when he starred in several box office hits like Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) opposite Renee Zellweger, About a Boy (2002), Love Actually (2003) and Music and Lyrics (2007) opposite Drew Barrymore.

Hugh continued making headlines, specifically in the British tabloids, when he started dating Jemima Khan. The two stuck together for three years prior to breaking up in February 2007, with Hugh’s publicist announcing that the couple had “decided to split amicably . . . Hugh has nothing but positive things to say about Jemima.”
