According to new reports,
Howard K. Stern is planning on pleading not guilty to allegations that he was partially responsible for
Anna Nicole Smith’s death.
He's accused of conspiring with two doctors to supply the former Playmate of the Year with the cocktail of drugs that killed her in 2007.
TMZ reports that Stern is adamant about the fact that he had nothing to do with supplying prescription drugs to Anna. And he won’t even bargain a plea deal with prosecutors.
The site says that rather than cut a deal with the DA that would likely lessen his sentence, Stern is going to just enter a not guilty plea for the crime he was charged with.
As of now, if Howard is convicted, he could face up to five years in a state prison.
We’re not sure if this is the best idea on his part! But the guy is so sure of himself that he had nothing to do with it, so maybe he deserves credit for sticking to his guns. We have a feeling he and the doctors are going down though!
UPDATE:
Howard didn't enter a plea today and instead postponed his arraignment until May 13. Stern's lawyer, Steve Sadow, told the media after the arraignment that "[Howard] is innocent. Let me repeat that, he is innocent."
