Nicole Scherzinger is ready to meet your mother. Well, not your mother per say, but she's set to guest star on the CBS hit show How I Met Your Mother.

Nicole will play Robin's former pal, Jessica Glitter, who now hosts a Canadian talk show with former "Growing Pains" star Alan Thicke. They need to give Alan a permanent spot on the show already!

Nicole will play a vital part in telling the story of Robin's (played by Cobie Smulders) days as a Canadian pop star. "It's the origin story of Robin Sparkles," executive producer Carter Bays said. "You see where she came from."

"It's going to be a satisfying third chapter in the Robin Sparkles trilogy," executive producer Craig Thomas said. "It's a prequel to both 'Let's Go to the Mall' and 'Sandcastles in the Sand.' "

The episode will air sometime in November. But in the meanwhile, Let's go to the mall...

Neil Patrick Harris took to Twitter to show off the latest "How I Met Your Mother" guest star, the one and only Jennifer Lopez.

The photo caption read, "Jennifer Lopez was really great - hot, cool, and funny. And well prepared! She gave me a few pointers. Here's one:"

Neil's HIMYM co-star Alyson Hannigan was also taken back by J.Lo's beauty. She tweeted, “Jennifer Lopez is SO pretty! And funny!! And nice!!! It’s not fair.”

J.Lo is set to play a no-nonsense self-help author, Anita Appleby, who teaches women how to retrain men through the power of denial. In the episode J.Lo's character will try to address Barney's (NPH) womanizing ways and "break him."

"We're looking forward to a week of revealing outfits and sexy dance moves the likes of which this show hasn't seen since Regis Philbinguest starred," series executive producer and co-creator Carter Bays said about J.Lo's guest appearance.

Make sure to tune into HIMYM in March to catch J.Lo "break" Barney.

Jennifer Lopez is a hot commodity right now! She is rumored to be joining the cast of Glee, playing the part of a cafeteria lady. And now she’s confirmed as a guest star on How I Met Your Mother.

The singer-actress will play Anita Appleby, a no-nonsense author of self-help books that teaches women how to mold the perfect man through the power of denial.

Executive producer and co-creator Carter Bays says, “We couldn’t be more excited about Jennifer Lopez joining us on How I Met Your Mother. We’re looking forward to a week of revealing outfits and sexy dance moves the likes of which this show hasn’t seen since Regis Philbin guest starred.”

The episode is scheduled to air in March. In other HIMYM news, CBS announced on Tuesday the series had been picked up for a sixth season to air in the fall. We’re not surprised—it’s one of the best shows on television! Congrats!
One of the biggest country stars is joining the cast of one of the top comedies on television! According to People, Carrie Underwood will be guest starring on How I Met Your Mother.

Sources say Carrie will play a character named Tiffany, a pharmaceutical sales rep and love interest for Ted, played by Josh Radnor. As you may recall, Ted is the guy who Britney Spears’ character was in love with when she guested on the show.

Carrie’s episode is scheduled to air in March. Also coming up as a guest star is Stacey Keibler, who will join the cast on January 11th for the 100th episode. We’ll also meet Rachel Bilson’s character, who is rumored to be Ted’s love interest as well. Co-star Allison Hannigan refers to Rachel as “The One.” This is the closest he’s ever been,” she says.

Lots in store for How I Met Your Mother! This seems like the hot show to guest star on right now!

Tim Gunn may be fierce when it comes to the runway, but can he do scripted television? Our guess is yes!

Tim will be appearing on the 100th episode of the CBS hit series How I Met Your Mother.

According to the Chicago-Tribune, Gunn will play a personal tailor/fashion consultant as Barney tries to fix a major league “Suit Catastrophe.”

HIMYM creator Craig Thomas says, "Tim is basically like Barney's ER physician for a serious suit emergency."

Also appearing on this episode is Rachel Bilson, which Hollyscoop reported last week. There will also be a reported song-and-dance number on episode #100. They’re really pulling out all the stops!

Thomas says, "We're really excited to have Tim on the show, and, with Rachel Bilson cast as a Ted love interest and a huge musical number to boot, it's gonna make Episode 100 even more fun and special.”
How I Met Your Mother has just lined up a sexy new guest star! Rachel Bilson, who has been more focused on fashion lately than acting, is set to join the cast of the hysterical comedy.

If you’re a fan of the show, this is a very important part! EW reports that Rachel has landed the infamous “mother” role. Yes, as in the one mentioned in the title!

Last month, exec producer Craig Thomas told EW that the 100th episode would feature “some serious mother action,” adding, “It’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come to [discovering who she is]. He’s getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it.”

Apparently the producers went back and forth for a while trying to cast this role. Bilson’s rep says she’s only signed on to do one episode at this point. Congrats to Rachel!
Neil Patrick Harris may be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards! He was a great host for the Tonys last month, and people must have taken notice, because he’s in the running!

Harris is in talks with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to host the 61st annual show on September 20th. The deal hasn’t been completed, but both sides are reportedly working hard towards making Neil the face of this year’s Emmys.

There’s a sense of urgency to boost the ratings for this year’s show, since last year was a bust with the five different hosts. Neil has been at the top of the Academy’s list since he earned rave reviews as the Tony host.

Plus, it’ll help that Neil’s show How I Met Your Mother is moving into the 8PM slot on CBS on Monday the day after the show! We love Neil as the host. He’s cute, funny, and we know he’ll do a great job!

Laura Prepon, best known for her role as Donna on That ‘70s Show, already has a new gig lined up.

News broke of her current show October Road getting canceled just last week. But leave it to the folks at How I Met Your Mother to always welcome new characters to the cast.

Laura will be appearing on the sitcom later this season, playing Karen, who is an ex and future girlfriend of Ted’s. Many are speculating that Laura could in fact be the “mother” that is suggested in the title.

Laura’s going to have a lot of fun with this character either way, as the script calls for her to be bitchy and beautiful, and notorious for cheating on her boyfriends to avoid having to go through the effort of dumping them. That’s a far cry from her girl-next-door role on That ‘70s Show.

As for now, Laura is only slated to appear on five episodes. Tune in this season to find out if she’s indeed the mother of Ted’s children!

Kendra Wilkinson is on a roll right now! She's reportedly set to star on How I Met Your Mother.

Hopefully they can incorporate that genius laugh of hers into her character a la Janice on Friends.

According to the report, she'll be playing a magazine cover-version of herself. (Is that implying she's modelesque???)

We think HIMYM knows exactly what they're doing with their cameos. They're trying to avoid cancellation, like so many other shows are enduring!
