Brad and Jen are together again! Okay, not that Brad and Jen in this case, the pair is Brad Zions and Jennifer Westfeldt (who last collaborated the indie hit "Kissing Jessica Stein”) as producer and writer/star, respectively, of "Ira and Abby," which premiered this weekend at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The film also marked the debut of a new executive producer, real estate mogul Jorge Perez, who befriended one of the movie’s producers, Ilana Levine, at a play in Miami.
Perez, Chairman and CEO of The Related Group and the largest multi-family home developer in the US, hosted the after party for the screening with partner Brad Korsen of KOR Hotel Group at Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, and introduced the celeb-studded crowd to their latest creation, the extension of the famed LA flag to Miami with Viceroy South Beach Resort & Residences.
Perez’s friend and partner on South Florida’s Trump Hollywood, Donald Trump came out to welcome him into the entertainment industry, saying Perez could be following in his footsteps as the next real estate mogul to go Hollywood. Trump was mingling with celebs and attendees, he was quite intimidating to approach but once I got the courage to actually approach him, he was actually really friendly and even posed for photographs. He was sans wife Melania, but literally looked like a million bucks with his New York-ish power suit and pink tie.
Marcia Martinez and Amy Zakarin from Zakarin Public Relations made sure the guests were having a great time, by successful throwing a fabulous “Miami” theme party with tented cabanas, Viceroy beach balls floating around the pool, and beautiful guests mingling over cocktails and Hors D’oeuvres.
Nearly 500 guests attended, including cast members Jason Alexander, Robert Klein, Judith Light and Chris Messina, as well as celebrity friends including Emmanuelle Chriqui of my favorite show “Entourage,” Bree Turner, and Kelly Carlson, who all left with gift bags with Viceroy South Beach beach balls.
