Haven’t had a chance to make it to Teddy’s or the Tropicana at THE ROOSEVELT HOTEL? Don’t worry, most of the LA population hasn’t either. The very exclusive “IT” clubs may be a thing of the past, literally! Ted Demme’s widow Amanda Demme is credited with making the clubs as hot as they are but the Roosevelt Hotel seems to be fed up with her and have told her they’re dissolving her contract.
Demme put Teddy’s and Tropicana on the map, with clientele such as Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, The Olsen Twins, Leonardo Dicaprio, Toby McGuire, Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Simpson, and so on. Now the Roosevelt is apparently “eager to get Demme out befor a damaging profile of her by Vanessa Grigoriadis comes out in Rolling Stone later this year” (Page Six)
”The hotel is under a lot of pressure from the city to get Amanda out.” Among the complaints: Underage drinking! “Every week there is another 18 or 19 year old like Lindsay Lohan, Kirsten Dunst, or the Olsen Twins in the clubs drinking and getting drunk.”
