That’s Princess Lizzie McGuire to you…
It’s no surprise that there are endless familial connections to England here in America given our country's heritage.
Genealogy website findmypast.com took to proving that point in a recent study aimed at linking Americans to Queen Elizabeth II and it turns out a lot of those relatives are celebrities.
Topping the list of celebrities is actress Hilary Duff, best known for her role in the long running Disney channel series “Lizzie McGuire.” Though distant - out of all the celebrities in the States - Hilary’s is the blood that runs the “Most Royal.”
USA Today reports that – according to genealogist Josh Taylor who worked on the study - Hilary Duff is the 18th cousin to the Queen of England.
The source of their connection is Edward III, an English king with many children, who lived from 1312 to 1377. According to USA Today, some historians believe that the King’s seed is responsible for the existence of most Brits (and probably Americans) today.
Royalty’s not the only thing Hilary’s got to smile about lately either. In addition to welcoming her son Luca Cruz earlier this year with husband Mike Comrie, the actress just scored a deal with 20th Century Fox to develop and star in a new half-hour television series.
Also reaching the top 20 of big names with royal backgrounds are Beyoncé, Ellen DeGeneres, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Michael Douglas, Brooke Shields, as well as Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal…
Like Hilary, these celebs share connections with the queen through either English or French Kings.
