Hilary Duff's Father Behind Bars

Hilary Duff's father Bob will spend the next ten days of his life in the pokey after he got into a bitter fight with her mother Susan over their daughter's 21st birthday party.

The former couple, who have been locked in a bitter divorce for about 2.5 years, were in court on Wednesday trying to settle some finances. Mr. Duff was ordered to pay Susan $25K so she can "pay for their daughter's birthday" next month. $25K for a bday?? Sounds a little extreme, no?

He was also ordered to pay the $367,537 he earned from selling stocks last month into a court repository and spend 10 days in jail for contempt of court.

Apparently her father violated an injunction by selling assets without court approval - and without the consent of his spouse so he will spend 10 days in jail for contempt of court.

These days celebrity parents are more messed up then their kids are. Don't drop the soap Mr. Duff.

it's sad to hear about this, but at least hilary's mom is fighting for her daughters, and only wants the best for them. for those of you thinking hilary should buy her own gifts and throw her own party, why would ANYONE do that?! do YOU buy your own gifts? No matter how rich you are, when you're in the business, parents always buy you gifts. and when your parents have money, THEY throw the children parties. hilary's father has the money, he owns a chain of convenience stores in texas! duh! this is all part of the divorce! the dad is SUPPOSED to give the mom money! in his situation, he has to, and should just give the money. at least hilary's mom doesn't have favorites, and wants to be fair w/ the amount of money for birthdays. Poor Hilary though, she's always been so gracious, classy, beautiful, and talented. you can say otherwise, but it's true. She's always maintained her dignity, and you can't deny that. she's not like all those other teen sluts flashing there vaginas, going to rehab, and taking naked pics. i hope hilary gets that big birthday bash. 21 is a milestone age, and definetly can't go uncelebrated! it's a big birthday for most ppl, so for a super famous girl, $25,000 for a gift and party isn't a lot! hope they get through this! TEAM HILARY!!!

Tasha....... Yes she is a Multi-millionaire BUT its her birthday. Who pays for their own birthday gifts and party's? And if you guys think her and her sister are SPOILED LITTLE BRATS, then your definetly wrong. They work really hard for their money and Hilary is one of the only Teen Stars that has been out of the tabloids about drinking/clubing the night away. The girl's got Dignity and Respect for people in her life. It would be great once in a while ESPCIALLY on her 21st birthday that she gets treated to a great party just for her. So, just leave them alone and move on! they are great people and no one should hate since they didnt really do anything wrong, except for her dad.

No one is hating on Hillary. The point is a lot of people throw their own b-day parties especially when they have her kind of cheese.

Tasha.... this article isnt JUST about paying for the party, her father did commit a violation. READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH IN THIS ARTICLE. and yes she does have the money to afford any party she wants BUT her mom is only trying to be fair and give Hilary what she deserves. They worked so hard for what they have now. Not like those other dumb Celebs who goes out and make themselves look like fools.

May.. read my post. Like I said if he sold maritial assets violating the court's order, go to jail. A party please!!! Puffy throws his own parties and so can she. By the time all this went to court, she could have thrown herself 10 parties!
