Hilary Duff Named Youth Ambassador in Colombia

Hilary Duff is quite the do gooder these days. And her efforts haven't gone unnoticed! The Duffster has been named youth ambassador to the children of the Colombian capital of Bogota.

Hilary is teaming up with the non-profit organization Blessing For Backpacks for an expedition in Colombia next month. She'll spend five days visiting the country handing out backpacks filled with food to students between kindergarten and fifth grade. Talk about a sweet treat!

She's set to receive the honor from Bogota Mayor Samuel Moreno in an official ceremony next month.

Hilary is one of the few child stars that haven’t fallen into the Hollywood starlet trap. She's managed to maintain a great reputation, has stayed clean and sober, and watched her career skyrocket. Other starlets (cough cough Lindsay) should really take note.
