Hilary Duff: I Had a Very Easy Delivery

There used to be a time when talk shows were a place for celebrities to promote a new film or TV show, now, it’s a place to discuss the intricacies of giving birth.

Hilary Duff stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked about going into labor. Sure, why not.

“It was a very easy [delivery],” Duff tells Ellen, “I went into labor at about 1 in the morning and I very calmly had my bags packed and woke my husband up after about 3 hours of walking up and down my hallway. Then I’m like ok, it’s time to go, let’s go now.”

Having a baby sounds like a walk in the park, well, until the next day…

“So it’s time to start pushing and I’m like now? Like now it’s time to go? I’m like call my Mom. Call my sister. You know, get them all in here,” Duff recalls, “He’s like ‘no, no, you’ll be fine you’ve got a while.’ So, I’m like all right. It’s just the two of us. Things start rolling. All of the sudden the doors bust open and my sister and my mom come flying in and they’re like ‘we got barbeque chips and root beer, guys!’”

Happy birthing day, Hilary Duff, we got chips and soda!

Duff is now the proud mommy to baby Luca Cruz Comrie, and Duff tells Ellen that motherhood “is an amazing ride. Huge change right away.”

Judging by the photos of her new son, Luca seems like a perfectly behaving baby.

“Well, before that he was screaming bloody murder,” Duff jokes, “That was one of the good pictures that we got. He’s so yummy. What is about to come is such an amazing journey and a lot of work.”
