Hilary Duff's hockey player hubby Mike Comrie proposed to her with such a gigantic ring, she thought it was fake! That's a good problem to have.
Hilary admits she had to really examine the ring after she accepted his proposal to figure out if it was real or fake.
She tells Access Hollywood, "I was kind of scared to look at (the ring)! I got a glance and it was like, 'Are you crazy? Are you kidding me? That’s not real. There’s no way it’s real!'
She added, "I don’t actually know (the carat size). I wasn’t like, ‘Now, how many carats is this?’”
The ring is rumored to be worth a whopping $1 million! If you're wondering how a mediocre hockey player can afford a ring that big, it's because he comes from a very wealthy family. Mike's father, William and his uncles, Fred and John, are the founders of The Brick furniture company, which is one of Canada's largest volume retailers of furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics.
Basically Hilary's big paychecks are like chump change for the family.
