Hilary Duff. biography
Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas and made her performing debut with her older sister Haylie in a BalletMet Columbus production of The Nutcracker Suite in San Antonio at the age of 6.
Soon after moving to Los Angeles at age 8, Hilary made her acting debut in the TV movie Casper Meets Wendy (1998).
The young actress then landed her first lead role in the Disney Channel TV series Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004), followed by starring roles in the family comedies Agent Cody Banks (2003), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) and A Cinderella Story (2004).
Despite starring in the box office failures The Perfect Man (2005) opposite Heather Locklear and Material Girls (2006) alongside her sister Haylie, Hilary continued rising up the ranks as a teen superstar with more prominent roles alongside Hollywood’s most talented actors such as Chevy Chase in the dramedy Stay Cool (2009), Val Kilmer in Bloodworth (2010) and Charlie Sheen in the comedy She Wants Me (2012).
Hilary’s most recent film projects include, Raising Hope (2013), Two and a Half Men (2013), the comedy Flock of Dudes (2014) and the TV movie Girlfriend in a Coma (2013).
Aside from movies, Hilary has made a name for herself as a respected singer. In 2003, her debut album Metamorphis reached number one on the Billboard 200 while her second album Hilary Duff (2004) debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of 192,000 copies. She found additional success with her third album Dignity (2007), which featured the hit single “With Love.”
