Producer Bill Borden says of the fourth movie, "Yes, there will be a fourth movie. We haven't actually really even talked about 4 that much together. But we've been working so hard on 3. As a producer, I haven't talked to Disney about 4. We have a ways to go."
When Hollyscoop talked with Zac about whether or not he'll reprise his role as Troy in the next movie, Zac didn't confirm yes or no, but he did say, "When we were filming High School Musical, we took every opportunity to kind of revel in the scenes and dances, because we knew this was going to be the last time we were all going to be together in this capacity. So we were soaking it up."
Ashley Tisdale told Hollyscoop that she doesn't know if she'll be returning to HSM or not. She said, "It is flattering obviously to have an open door for my character, but I am doing other projects as well and moving on. But this project is always something I'll hold close to my heart."
It sounds like Corbin Bleu is in the same boat as his co-stars. When asked how he's planning on transitioning into more adult roles, Corbin said, "It's all about range. It's all about we as artists, you're never satisfied, so you always gotta continue to stretch yourself. I'm just focusing on challenging myself a little bit more. Also expanding into other art forms as well. I'm working on music. I've been in the studio working on my second album. I also went into producing."
The cast as a whole can all agree on the fact that they used their time on the set to travel back to high school.
