High School Musical

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards have just wrapped up, and you can bet this year's show will go down as one of the most memorable shows in Grammy history.

It started off on a highly somber note, with the news of Whitney Houston's sudden, tragic death on Saturday evening. The show had to be reconstructed to allow for a performance tribute from Jennifer Hudson.

The tribute was a heavy one, and although the tears could be heard in Hudson's voice, she performed a flawless rendition of 'I Will Always Love You.' The singer was met with a massive applause from the crowd. Hudson fanned away her tears.

Every time a huge blockbuster comes out, mistakes are found. In fact, there’s an entire website dedicated to finding blunders in movies. And coming in at number one is Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

Moviemistakes editor Jon Sandys says, "With the budget of many movies, you’d think they could avoid mistakes like this, or at least use computers to cover them up, but they keep cropping up, and eagle-eyed movie fans keep spotting them."

The full list of 2008’s continuity-challenged films is as follows:

1. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 64 mistakes
2. Mamma Mia! - 44 mistakes
3. The Dark Knight - 43 mistakes
4. Twilight - 41 mistakes
5. High School Musical 3: Senior Year - 41 mistakes
6. Journey to the Center of the Earth - 31 mistakes
7. Quantum of Solace - 23 mistakes
8. Get Smart - 22 mistakes
9. Step Brothers - 22 mistakes
10. Iron Man - 21 mistakes

This reminds of the movie "Knocked Up" where the useless guys want to start a website that has the most boob shots. Hey, if they have the time to sit through a movie and pick out the mistakes, we are willing to read about it!

Well, it definitely seems like the cast of High School Musical is ready to move on and leave the safe world of Disney movies. But director Kenny Ortega just can’t seem to let go. He says he plans on bringing back Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, and the rest of the crew back just one last time.

He says, "We’ve been talking about it. Steve Vincent, who is Head of Music for ABC and The Disney Channel in the States, came to me earlier this year and came with a load of ideas also including a Christmas album. We’ve also talked about doing a 3D concert movie experience with the cast. I’ve also been talking about the idea of taking High School Musical and transferring the setting to another country… go outside of the US… maybe to the UK. I like that idea. I think it would be a fun experience."

We highly doubt the kids will go for that, seeing that every time we ask them if they’ll be a part of the fourth movie, they say no! Kenny needs to move on! We’re sure the sophomores in the cast would be happy to make more money off HSM like their older castmates did!

Rumors have been swirling mainly about Zac Efron not coming back to join the cast for a fourth installment of the franchise. Disney confirmed earlier in the year that HSM is by no means over, and we should watch out for the new castmates who might get the chance to step into leading roles once this year's seniors move on to other things.

Producer Bill Borden says of the fourth movie, "Yes, there will be a fourth movie. We haven't actually really even talked about 4 that much together. But we've been working so hard on 3. As a producer, I haven't talked to Disney about 4. We have a ways to go."

When Hollyscoop talked with Zac about whether or not he'll reprise his role as Troy in the next movie, Zac didn't confirm yes or no, but he did say, "When we were filming High School Musical, we took every opportunity to kind of revel in the scenes and dances, because we knew this was going to be the last time we were all going to be together in this capacity. So we were soaking it up."

Ashley Tisdale told Hollyscoop that she doesn't know if she'll be returning to HSM or not. She said, "It is flattering obviously to have an open door for my character, but I am doing other projects as well and moving on. But this project is always something I'll hold close to my heart."

It sounds like Corbin Bleu is in the same boat as his co-stars. When asked how he's planning on transitioning into more adult roles, Corbin said, "It's all about range. It's all about we as artists, you're never satisfied, so you always gotta continue to stretch yourself. I'm just focusing on challenging myself a little bit more. Also expanding into other art forms as well. I'm working on music. I've been in the studio working on my second album. I also went into producing."

The cast as a whole can all agree on the fact that they used their time on the set to travel back to high school.
The Wildcats are back with their third installment of High School Musical, this time hitting the silver screen as they enter their senior year. Will this be the last we'll see of Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, and Chad? Hollyscoop got the chance to sit down with the cast to talk about the phenomenon HSM has become, and the possibility that this may be the end of an era.

The cast as a whole can all agree on the fact that they used their time on the set to travel back to high school. Only this time, there were makeup people and students conversing in song. For some, it was very different than their "real" high school experiences. And for one cast member, the first time she'd ever been to prom or wore a cap and gown.

Ashley Tisdale: "My real life senior year was completely opposite of Sharpay's. She's thinking about a Julliard scholarship because it's a step towards Broadway for her; whereas I was already acting in my high school."

Vanessa Hudgens: "I was actually home schooled, so I never actually really went to high school. That's just another reason HSM means so much to me. I got to go to my prom for the first time. And I got to wear a cap and gown for the very first time."

Monique Coleman: "I was 17 and I could not get out of high school fast enough, and I couldn't get on with my life fast enough, I couldn't get as far away from South Carolina fast enough. At that time, I'm sure I had different motivations than my character."

As for memories, it was hard for each cast mate to pin point a specific favorite part of the High School musical ride they've been on for the past three years.

Zac Efron said, "I don't know if you can put it all into one specific memory. I think it's just the environment. It's been a very safe and creative place for us to work for the past three years. And it's going to be pretty hard to leave that behind."

Vanessa told us, "We've done three movies. You have to understand that it's been three years of our lives that we've had the most amazing time. Picking one memory is almost impossible."

Monique echoed, "It's been such an incredible ride. We've gotten to do things that Other actors don't normally get to do ever in their careers."

Corbin Bleu, however, knew all along that he wanted to be in the limelight. He says, "It always changes, ya know when you're a kid and you have grand ideas to really become a lot of different things. It came down to two professions for me. A pediatrician and an actor. Now I can at least play an doctor on TV."

Zac also got a chance to clear up that story of a fan trying to take a lock of his hair while he was in London for the premiere. Zac insists it was a mix-up, saying, "There was no scary fan encounter. I didn't get touched. I walked and got into a car, and then I had like, all of my relatives calling me saying, 'What happened?' It was blown out of proportion."

Even though the chances are slim of the entire original cast returning for a fourth movie, it doesn't mean the cast wasn't choked up after shooting wrapped on HSM 3. Ortega says the whole cast, including the guys, were cying! He says, "The entire cast one at a time started to crumble. We had to stop shooting, and the producer ordered the van to pick them up and send them back to makeup trailer."

Ashley dittoed that, saying, "Kenny had said this amazing speech and that's what got us all going. Hair and makeup even started crying. It was an emotional fest."

Zac says, "We've come a long way as Wildcats, but even more as individuals."

Make sure to catch High School Musical 3 as it hits theaters October 24th.
