According to EW, there has been talk that NBC may air a movie that wraps up the story, but nothing has been finalized.
Hayden: It's Exciting Dating a Boxer
The official announcement will take place today in New York when NBC announces its fall lineup to advertisers. We've been hearing cancellation rumors for months so this news really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.
“In the end, given the fairly high cost of the drama, the show’s consistently declining ratings and the number of new hour-long shows coming to NBC next season, the network decided the series wasn’t worth an additional episode order,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show only averaged 6.5 million viewers this year, which is why Hayden Panettiere and her co-stars are officially out of job. Are you bummed about the show getting canceled?

Rob & Chad Lowe were also honored, but the question of the night was, who is actually watching Heroes? The topic has come to the forefront as the show numbers continue to slump in its third season. And to add fuel to the fire, executive producers, Jesse Alexander & Jeph Loeb were canned over the weekend.
With all the rumors in the air we wanted to ask the simple question, Who is the typical Heroes viewer? "There is none, I have little kids, I have guys, I have women come up to me, and there's really just no pattern." explained Cristine Rose, who plays Angela Petrelli on the show.
She goes on to tell us where the biggest competition lies, "I saw something yesterday on the internet that said a lot of women over 49 and women under 18 love the show, And somewhere in the middle there watching Dancing with the Stars. But it’s amazing about the demographics."
Spicy Latina, Dania Ramirez who plays Maya Herrera on the show explains, "There all different, I have met people as old as fifty something and then of course the comic book fans are the hardcore heart of who our fans are."
We didn't realize that fifty something was considered old, you have to wonder what Madonna would think about that statement. Plus we all know that fifty is the new thirty.
The nights most interesting comment came from Greg Grunberg, who plays Matt Parkman on the show, "I once had a guy who asked for a picture for his wife, so I sent him a signed headshot and I wrote call me seriously, as a joke right, So he sent me a picture back of him, naked," With a great sense of humor Greg added, "The typical fan is someone who can appreciate a good story in a comic, they are smart and you have one shot with a smart audience."
And to know surprise, Hayden Panettiere was rushed away before we got to speak with her, however her TV Father spoke protectively on the downside of being young and beautiful in Hollywood.
"Its not a secret. The way the publicity game is set up, its completely obsessed with young women and the idea is to basically to destroy them, its predatory and It certainly could make me react in a very bad way if I had to put up with what she has to put up with." says Jack Coleman who plays Noah Bennet.
With all the various powers that each cast member has, maybe one of them could look far enough into the future and see what's in store for NBC & Heroes.

Anyway, rating have been not up to par this season on the show, and rumor has it NBC is frustrated with the creative direction Jesse and Jeph were taking the show in.
Variety says the show is “teetering on the edge of cancellation.” The network apparently had it with each episode costing $4 million to make and only averaging a 5.4 rating out of a possible 8. We admit, we haven’t tuned in this season either! Could this be the last of Heroes?

Willa Holland stirred up trouble as Marissa's little sister on The O.C., and now she's arrived to do the same thing on Gossip Girl as Agnes, a young model who befriends Jenny. Just as things seem to be on track for Little J, Agnes convinces her to tap into her wild side and have some fun, and she also motivates her to stand up to Eleanor at work. Meanwhile, Serena meets a new guy, an artist named Aaron Rose, and the two of them click instantly. As for Chuck and Blair: Like he told her last week, now it's time for her to chase him.
Heroes @ 9pm
Last week's episode left several characters in perilous positions as Nathan and Tracy were captured by a much-changed Suresh, and Peter's reunion with his dear old dad left him trapped and — even worse — stripped of his powers. Needless to say, Mamma Petrelli is not pleased by Peter's abduction and asks Sylar to go after his brother. In guest-star news, Kristen Bell returns tonight as the electrifying Elle.
Samantha Who? @ 9:30pm
It's good news and bad news for Sam in this episode. The good news: a clinical trial for a new medication enables her to regain some memory fragments. The bad news: what she remembers is what a cast-iron beeyatch she was. Meanwhile, Andrea is insulted when she and Dena are mistaken for a lesbian couple. It's not that she takes being thought gay as a slur. She just insists she could have a much hotter partner if she were.
Raising the bar @ 10pm
The overly familiar courtroom drama's freshman season begins winding down (the finale airs next week) with idealistic public defender Jerry Kellerman going full court: He defends an HIV-positive man leveled with attempted murder charges for spitting at a police officer. Making matters worse is Jerry's legal opponent, an overbearing, self-important DA from the Major Crimes Unit. And here comes da judge: Judge Kessler invites Charlie along for a trip to Italy.

Penny finally finds something to share with the guys other than the hallway (and maybe speculating that Sheldon is from another planet). Sheldon introduces Penny to something the lads love — their online gaming community — and inadvertently creates a gaming monster who doesn't know how to stop.
Heroes @ 9pm
Last week's pairing of Sylar and Noah may certainly win the title as the show's oddest couple, but unlikely alliances between characters are far from over. Tonight, Hiro and Ando investigate who hired Daphne and seek help from Hiro's former friend-nemesis, Adam Monroe. Elsewhere, Peter reveals that nearly everyone has powers in the future he's desperately trying to prevent. Claire, meanwhile, sets off on her first adventure hunting a villain from her dad's files. But it's not all bad news in the Heroes' universe: Love is in the air for two characters.
Prison Break @ 9pm
Michael is beginning to get close to Scylla, but Greek-mythology fans will know that this is not necessarily a good thing. And since saying more might give away spoilers, let's leave it at that for now. Meanwhile, Sucre is asked to take one for the team while a contingent of our gang is in Las Vegas on card-transcribing business, and Linc has something to say to Sara about Michael that she isn't going to want to hear.
CSI: Miami @ 10pm
Delko has some dark secrets and they just might become exposed in the cleverly titled episode "And How Does That Make You Kill?" But, then again, not if Horatio can help it. The trouble begins when the daughter of Delko's therapist (guest star Gail O'Grady) is murdered. H is on the case, and he not only seeks to capture the killer but wants to find the murderer before any of Delko's private confessions become public.

Because of the Writers' Strike, "Heroes" was forced to end their season early. And they went with the same guy to save the world again. Well, in a time when nothing and no one is working in Hollywood, I guess if it's not broke, don't fix it!
Milo Ventimiglia's character, Peter, destroyed a virus capable of annihilating most of mankind while Nathan Petrelli, Peter's high-flying brother, appeared to be assassinated at a press conference. Phew!
Ventimiglia says he's seen no scripts and has no clues about what will happen when the show returns. "We ran out of stuff to shoot," he said. "That's basically what it boils down to."
Meanwhile, Milo is producing and starring in the first episode of a series of holiday-themed stop-animation short films for American Eagle Outfitters. The digital shorts also feature Lil Jon, Kristen Bell, Pete Wentz and Adrianne Palicki.
"I try and take a break and take a vacation," he says, "but I keep getting wrapped up in jobs." He should be glad he even has a job right now!

Episode 2x11
Well the first thing I must point out is that nothing was definitively declared in actual dialogue on who died. Yes we saw the building explode with presumably Nikki inside. Yes we saw Nathan get shot and then we cut to the next scene with his mother on the phone, and in the background we hear the TV say that Nathan Petrelli was shot, but I do not recall actually hearing the words killed, murdered or assassinated. Oh and there is also Hiro burying Adam alive. Will he come back? Hmm.
Now all of this could be me just overanalyzing it, but honestly with the lazy writing that's been going on with Heroes this season, it doesn't seem too far fetched for the writers and producers to give themselves a creative "out" if they need it. But I digress…
At the end of the day, what really happened in this episode? Nikki saves Monica, sacrificing herself. Noah reveals to his family that he is alive only to leave them again so he can get back to work for The Company and they can have a normal life. Peter finally realizes, because of Nathan confronting him, that Adam is a bad guy and destroys the virus. Maya finally realizes, after him showing his true colors, that Sylar is a bad guy. Elle finds out Sylar is alive and goes to apprehend him hoping this will give her brownie points with her daddy, and in the process earns gratitude from Suresh, Molly, and Maya.
But now with the virus presumably destroyed and the skeletons in The Company's closet (or Safe if you prefer) finally seeing some light before Nathan got shot, how will the season pick up next year where it left off now?
Well right now all we have is time and plenty of it for the foreseeable future.
