Henry Cavill Featured In First Official \'Man of Steel\' Photo
Lois Lane is so lucky. Newcomer Henry Cavill stars as the new Man of Steel in the upcoming Superman flick, Man of Steel. And yeah, he's gonna be a heartthrob.

The film's first official image was released on Thursday, even though the movie won't be released until 2013. Not that we're complaining. From the looks of it, it's going to be a darker version of the previous Superman movies.

Things You Didn't Know About Henry Cavill

That may have something to do with Christopher Nolan's producing and David S. Goyer's writing. Both are of The Dark Knight fame. Director Zach Snyder is now shooting the movie, and, along with Henry Cavill, it stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon.

Henry Cavill starred in The Tudors, and auditioned for a Twilight role. That's right, he wanted to be Edward Cullen but was beat out by Robert Pattinson. Apparently, he didn’t look young enough. For a long time, Cavill was known as "the most unlucky man in Hollywood," due to the fact that he was constantly being beat out for big roles.

Not anymore. Cavill had to fight for it, but for the role of Superman, he beat out Jon Hamm, Joe Manganiello, Armie Hammer, and Matthew Goode.
