Heidi Klum Upsets Hindus with Costume

Heidi Klum may be regretting the Goddess Kali costume she wore on Halloween, because she's pissed off America's leading Hindus.

Not only are they upset about the costume, they want a public apology for posing as a sacred figure.

Indo-American rep Rajan Zed says, "Goddess Kali is highly revered in Hinduism and she is meant to be worshipped in temples and not to be used in clubs for publicity stunts or thrown around loosely for dramatic effects.

"Hindus welcome Hollywood and other entertainment industries to immerse themselves in Hinduism, but they should take it seriously and respectfully, and not just use the religion for decoration or to advance their selfish agenda. Casual flirting sometimes results in pillaging serious spiritual doctrines and revered symbols and hurting the devotees."

Just in case you're not familiar with Goddess Kali, she is considered the goddess of time and change. Some Bengali poets described her as supreme deity. Do you think Heidi should apologize? Or was it all in good fun?

Boy, religion is so stupid! So here's a religion that has a goddess of "death and destruction" that they "worship"(!!!) and then they get all up and arms when someone dresses up like the goddess on Halloween. Oy veh! Aren't there better things to worry about like illness, war, famine, etc? But these religious people get all upset cuz a stupid BOOK has been burned, or a FLAG (piece of fabric) burned, or a deity (NON-person) insulted. Give me a break.

People really need to lighten up. I saw costumes of diddy going as the pope and perez hilton went as Jesus Christ. I don't see people asking them for a public apology. Although, don't get me wrong, I found perez's to be particularly offensive. But we live in a free society.
