Michelle Williams on Heath's Death: It Keeps Getting Worse

November 24, 2008

Nearly a year after Heath Ledger's death, his former love and mother of his child, Michelle Williams, opened up to Newsweek about her feelings on the subject.

Even though she has a new man in her life, director Spike Jonze, Michelle, 28, still feels hurt at the thought that Heath is no longer a part of her life.

"It's so sad. I just wake up each day in a slightly different place. Grief is like a moving river. It's just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse," she said.

The actress also went on to talk about the paparazzi and how it continues to anger her. "It burns a fire inside of me, the s*** that I've seen people do to get at me or my daughter. I don't want my daughter growing up feeling spied on or threatened."

She also added that she might take a year off from Hollywood to focus on her three-year-old daughter Mathilda. Now that sounds like a smart idea to us.

What a tragedy his death was. My heart just breaks for Mathilda who will never really know her dad.
