Who better than to have the honor of getting Heath Ledger’s Golden Globe than his daughter Matilda? Heath Ledger won the statue on Sunday night for his role in the Dark Knight, and his mother says it will most likely go to his daughter.
She says, "I should imagine that eventually it will be going to Matilda. At this stage she is only so young, but down the track she will have all these things. It will belong to her because she is part of him."
In a year that has no doubt been very hard for the Ledger family, Sunday’s win for Heath meant a lot. And as Heath’s mother Sally tells People, his relatives are “bursting with pride.”
She says, "It is such a fantastic and wonderful legacy for his daughter. Matilda will have so many people who will be able to speak to her about her father's abilities and (the) respect he had in the industry. That is such a wonderful legacy to leave."
This is definitely a good move by Heath’s family to give it to Matilda. It may not mean much to her now, but when she grows up, she’ll learn what a respected man and actor her father was.
