The late Heath Ledger is on fire this award season, not only did he win Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes, he was nominated for an Academy Award last week and last night at the SAG awards he was named best supporting actor for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
His Dark Knight co-star Gary Oldman accepted the award on his behalf telling the audience:
"I am quite emotional," Oldman said. "It is a great honor to be asked to accept this on behalf of Heath. He was an extraordinary young man with an extraordinary talent, and it is wonderful that you have acknowledged that and honored that talent tonight.
"On behalf of Heath, his family and his family on The Dark Knight, I thank you."
The SAG awards are like a crystal ball into the Oscars so the big mystery remains as to who will accept the Oscar on behalf of Heath if he wins--which is looking really good. Who do you think should accept his Academy Award?
